Crash Claims Life Of Webster Man

A North Webster man died during a single-vehicle accident Thursday night on CR 200N, 1700 feet west of Ind. 13.
At 9:10 p.m. Thursday, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputies and emergency personnel responded to a single-vehicle crash, according to a news release from KCSO. Emergency personnel arrived on scene and located a 1995 Ford F-250 pickup truck had struck a large tree.
Preliminary investigation determined the Ford truck was eastbound on CR 200 north and for an unknown reason, left the southern edge of the roadway and struck the tree.
The driver of the vehicle, Matthew W. Abrams, 31, North Webster, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office as a result of injuries suffered in the crash. Abrams was not wearing a seatbelt and was the only occupant of the vehicle.
KCSO was assisted at the scene by the Tippecanoe Township Fire Territory, Lutheran EMS, Pierceton PD, North Webster PD, Pierceton Fire Department, North Webster EMS, Kosciusko County 911 Dispatch Center, Raven’s Wrecker Service and the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office.
The crash remains under investigation by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office FACT team.
