Mobile Home Destroyed In Thursday Morning Blaze

PIERCETON – A mobile home is a total loss following a Thursday morning fire.
Pierceton Fire Department was called to 8280 East U.S. 30, lot 52, Pierceton, at 3:23 a.m. Thursday, according to Fire Chief Nathan Rhoades.
Upon arrival at the scene, Rhoades said the trailer was fully engulfed in flames. Rhoades did not have the name of the trailer’s owner, but did say the owner’s son and his wife and family lived in the trailer.
A family dog died during the fire. There were no other injuries or fatalities.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
North Webster, Winona Lake and Sidney fire departments assisted.

County Issues Burn Ban Effective Immediately
Kosciusko County issued a burn ban effective at noon Wednesday. Neighboring Marshall and Fulton counties already had a ban in place.
