Judith A. Metzger, 82, passed away peacefully in her daughter’s home in Batavia, Ohio, on Friday, Dec. 15, 2023.
Lifetime Indiana resident, Judy was born on June 9, 1941, to Donald and Loretta Davis Randall in Warsaw. In 1974, She moved to South Whitley, where she lived for 25 years before moving back to Warsaw and eventually to Batavia, Ohio, with her daughter and son-in-law.
Judy worked for Playtime Products making doll and baby buggies. She also created many lasting relationships being an Avon Representative and regional manager.
She loved to travel and her main hobbies were coloring, jigsaw puzzles and lottery tickets.
She served as the past president for the American Legion Auxiliary Post #49 in Warsaw, as well as being a member for over 40 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and several cousins.
Judy is loved and survived by her children: Ty W. Brown, of Lakeland, Fla.; Carrie (Tom) Stump, of Pierceton; Laura (Len) Jones, of Batavia, Ohio; and Stephanie Swain, of Warsaw; Kevin Swain, of Warsaw; grandchildren: Mellissa Persley, John Stump, Kristi Gannon and Tyler Swain; great-grandchildren: Lance Hunt, Kayla Huxell, Peyton Huxell, Bali Swain, Everly Swain; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, Dec. 21 from 10 a.m. to noon at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw. Funeral services will follow in the chapel at noon with Pastor Noble Pulsipher officiating.
Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. A luncheon was held at 1 p.m. following graveside services at the American Legion, Warsaw, provided by the Auxiliary.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Nurses Traig Scholarship Fund c/o the American Legion Post #49 301 N. Buffalo St., Warsaw, IN 46580.
