County Commissioners, Council Make Appointments For 2024

Following the Kosciusko County Council’s 2024 committee and board appointments on Thursday, the County Commissioners made theirs Tuesday morning.
All appointments are for one year, unless otherwise noted.
The board appointments by the commissioners are:
• Alan Alderfer, Alcohol Tobacco Commission.
• Kevin McSherry, Area Plan Commission, four years.
• Stanley Moore, Arrowhead RC&D, four years.
• Cary Groninger, American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) committee
• Kevin McSherry and Lee Harman, Board of Zoning Appeals.
• Jim Smith, Bowen Center.
• Brad Voelz, Tony Garza, Pam Kennedy, Community Corrections Advisory Board, four-year appointments.
• Erin Sorensen, Cyber Incident State Reporter.
• Marsha McSherry, Cary Groninger, Kimberly Cates, Chris McKeand, Ann Torpy/Melissa Boggs, Kip Shuter, Cyber Incident Committee.

The 2024 department head appointments are Marsha McSherry, county administrator; Ed Ormsby, county attorney; Bill Holder, GIS; Steve Moriarty, county highway superintendent; Kip Shuter, Homeland Security/LEPC; Cathy Reed, human resource director; Bob Momeyer, system administrator; Darryl McDowell, veteran service officer; and Rob Barker, weights and measures.
Miscellaneous appointments by the commissioners were Chris Rassi, Bell Memorial Public Library reappointment, four-year appointment; Terry Owens, board of health reappointment, four years; James Scott, drainage board, four years; and Paul Stoelting, public defender (judges’ appointment), a three-year appointment.
The County Council members’ appointments for 2024 are:
• Sue Ann Mitchell will serve on the tax abatement, airport, ARPA, opioid and wheel tax committees.
• Joni Truex will serve on the Kosciusko County Economic Development Commission (two Years, Redevelopment Commission and nonprofit committee.
• Kimberly Cates will serve on the KEDCO board, wheel tax committee, nonprofit committee, IT/cyber security and Milford Economic Development Commission.
• Tony Ciriello will serve on the airport committee, emergency management committee, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Merit Board, nonprofit committee, security committee and the Warsaw Economic Development Commission.
• Dave Wolkins will serve on the airport committee, Kosciusko County Solid Waste Management District board and wheel tax committee.
• Kathleen Groninger will serve on the abatement committee, community corrections advisory board, MACOG, opioid committee, Main Street Warsaw and wage committee.
• President Mike Long will serve on the abatement committee, Area Plan Commission (four years) and wage committee.
Other council appointments include:

• Ernie Wiggins and Jon Garber, airport committee.
