Milford Councilman Resigning, GOP Caucus Set

Longtime Milford Town Councilman Robert Cockburn is resigning from the board, and a Republican caucus has been scheduled to replace him.
According to the notice of the caucus from Kosciusko County Republican Central Committee Chairman Mike Ragan, Cockburn’s resignation is effective Dec. 31.
The caucus will be held in the Milford Town Council Chamber, 121 S. Main St., Milford, on Jan. 2 at 6 p.m.
Eligible members of the caucus, by statutory definition, are the Republican precinct committee members of Van Buren Township who have served continuously, from 30 days prior to the date of the commencement of the caucus.
Cockburn’s replacement on the council will be elected by secret ballot of the majority of the members of the voting caucus to fill the vacancy in the office.
Eligible candidates must reside in Milford and be a Republican in good standing,
Candidates will be allowed a maximum of three minutes to address the voting caucus.
Declarations of candidacy are available at the office of Kosciusko County Clerk of the Circuit Court, 121 N. Lake St., Warsaw, and an original copy must be filed with Ragan no later than 72 hours prior to the start of the caucus.
