Kosciusko REMC recently reaffirmed its commitment to the Kosciusko community with a $5,000 donation to Combined Community Services in support of their Winter Warmth Program.
KREMC President and CEO Kurt Carver presented the symbolic check to Randy Polston, CCS executive director; Kiira Churchill, CCS director of development; and Tim Frame, CCS director of emergency assistance on Tuesday.
Since 2007, KREMC has been contributing to the Winter Warmth Program, which extends crucial assistance to individuals and families in need during the harsh winter months, according to a news release from KREMC.
"Giving back to our community is not just a commitment; it's an integral part of our cooperative mission,” said Carver. “We stand firmly behind CCS as they provide warmth and essential services to our community during the winter season.”
He said, "As a cooperative, our success is intertwined with the prosperity of our members. We understand the challenges our community faces, and by supporting CCS, we are actively addressing these challenges.”
Combined Community Services will allocate the donation towards assisting KREMC members struggling with their electric bills, providing relief to households facing financial constraints. This initiative ensures that families and individuals can keep their homes warm without the added burden of high energy costs.
KREMC continues to champion community-focused initiatives, embodying the cooperative principle of concern for community, according to the release.
Kosciusko REMC is a Touchstone Energy® electric cooperative serving over 18,500 accounts throughout Kosciusko County and into surrounding counties.
