Good-Hearted Politician?

Editor, Times-Union:
Did anyone see this news? Was it covered in our local paper(s)? Our Republican representative in Congress, Jim Banks, “… has introduced a bill to ensure that transgender kids in foster care can be placed in unsupportive environments that harm their well-being. His bill, the Sensible Adoption for Every (SAFE) Home Act, would cut federal funding to any child welfare agencies and groups that refuse to place trans kids with transphobic foster parents.”
Have we been transported back in time? Can we now expect people to be given lobotomies if they are autistic, mentally challenged in any way, or just have relatively low IQ’s? Are we once again going to hide physically handicapped children in closets or in locked rooms? How about people with TB or other communicable diseases? Will they be housed (as they were in the past) in tiny little houses all by themselves in order to “save” the rest of mankind?
What the heck is going on? Will there soon be bills submitted to gather up all people who are somehow different or appear to pose some kind of physical or mental threat to the rest of us and blast them off to another planet?
People with “god complexes” do not belong in any governmental office! Vote!!
