December 12, 2023 at 4:59 p.m.
The Annual Red Kettle Blitz will be Saturday.
An anonymous donor is pledging up to $5,000 for every dollar collected on Friday and Saturday, according to a news release from The Salvation Army. WIOE Oldies 101.1 FM will broadcast first at Kroger and then at Walmart Supercenter in Warsaw from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Grinch will be at the Walmart Supercenter Pharmacy door (south door) to encourage people to give and take pictures from noon to 1 p.m.
Big Boss BBQ will be collecting donations at their site in the old Marsh parking lot from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
JB’s Furniture has a food collection box in front of their business to collect items for the Choice Pantry.
Two brass groups will play at Kroger, one at 10 a.m. and then TSA Community Brass at 6 p.m.
Bell ringers from Warsaw Rotary Club will be at Walmart and the Blood Bought Bikers will be at Kroger.
“We appreciate everyone who supports our outreach to ‘others’ at Christmas as well as throughout the year,” Envoy Ken Locke, administrator, said about the Blitz. “The Salvation Army has experienced a 30% increase in requests for services this year so all donations are greatly appreciated!”
