NAPPANEE – LuAnn Buss, age 70, of Rochester, passed away at 5:55 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, at the Rochester Group Home.  
She was born Sept. 22, 1953, in Elkhart, to George Jr. and Betty Nelson Buss.
Surviving are her sisters, Karen (John) Smithson, Albion; and Kelly (Mike) Guernsey, Fulton, N.Y.; and her brother, Brian (Tawna) Buss, Nappanee; nieces and nephews: Kent Smithson, Kurt (Sarah) Smithson, Kelsey Smithson, Chloe (Cole) Knox, Michael (Shannon) Guernsey, Mikayla Guernsey, Megan Guernsey, Rachel Buss, Brian “BJ” Buss, Madison Buss, Ben Buss; and great-nieces and -nephews: Noah Smithson, Aiden Smithson, Autumn Jenswold, Willis Smithson, Colter and Daniel Knox, Maci Guernsey.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, also at the funeral home. John Smithson will officiate. Burial will follow in South Union Cemetery.
God has a plan and purpose for everyone’s life. LuAnn taught her family and her Cardinal Center family how to love unconditionally, have compassion and find joy in a hot fudge sundae. Her presence was a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
Memorial contributions in LuAnn’s name may be given to Cardinal Services/Rochester Group Home.
