FORT WAYNE – For a decade straight, Parkview Health has been recognized on the Digital Health Most Wired Survey by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME).
In the 2023 survey, Parkview was certified at Level 9, the second-highest level, in both acute and ambulatory care categories. This marks the 10th consecutive year Parkview has been named among the country's Most Wired healthcare organizations, according to the release from Parkview.
"Technological innovation, coupled with artificial intelligence, is advancing healthcare like never before. Parkview remains committed to serving its patients, providers and co-workers by following the industry's best practices in implementing leading-edge technology to continuously improve the quality of care provided," said Ron Double, chief information officer, Parkview Health. "Through electronic portals for patients, tools used by providers to ensure the best care and security systems that keep your data safe, it's an honor to be recognized once again by CHIME for the work we do to utilize technology to provide the best experience."
Among the more than 55,000 facilities represented, Parkview ranked above peers in categories like analytics and data management, population health, infrastructure and patient engagement. The survey assessed the adoption, integration and impact of technologies in healthcare organizations at all stages of development, from early development to industry leading.
"As physicians, technology is one of our best tools to ensure we're providing the highest quality care to our patients, that nothing is overlooked and that our providers are using the best practices available to them," said Dr. Mark Pierce, senior vice president and chief medical information officer, Parkview Health. "Technology allows providers to make the best decisions at the point of care, providing care that is safe, effective and efficient."
"We are proud to recognize Parkview's exceptional dedication to digital health excellence," said CHIME president and CEO Russell P. Branzell. "Your pioneering performance in the industry not only inspires other organizations by example, but also provides patients around the world with better care."
Amid escalating challenges posed by growing cybersecurity threats, evolving care models and budget constraints, the call for revolutionizing healthcare through technology is moving forward at a rapid pace, according to CHIME. Driven by emerging technology, digital innovation — enabled by fully interoperable data, artificial intelligence, and open, secure platforms — will drive much of this change.
