SYRACUSE – Carlos Mejia, age 22, of Milford, passed away in Cromwell on Dec. 6, 2023.
He was born on July 20, 2001, in Goshen, to Randulfo and Marlene Mejia. Carlos's untimely departure has left a void in the lives of his family and friends, but the memories he leaves behind will forever be cherished.
Carlos attended Wawasee High School and graduated in 2019. Following his education, he began working as an assistant crew leader at Lakeland Pier Company. His dedication and strong work ethic made him an invaluable asset to the company. Carlos's colleagues remember him as a reliable and hardworking individual.
Outside of work, Carlos had a deep passion for music. He self-taught himself how to play the guitar, showcasing his determination and natural talent. His love for music allowed him to find solace and express himself creatively.
In addition to music, Carlos had a vibrant personality. He had an infectious smile that could light up a room and a genuine kindness that touched everyone he encountered. Carlos had an affinity for video games - he enjoyed playing games of all kinds and often spent time with friends engaging in friendly competition.
Carlos will forever be treasured by his devoted family and friends who are left with countless memories. His passing will undoubtedly be felt by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his parents, Randulfo Mejia, of New Paris; and Marlene Mejia, of Milford; siblings: Brandy Rickard, of Iowa; David Bruder, of Elkhart; Matthew Bruder, of North Webster; Gabriella Benton, of Milford; and Lindsay, Rudy and Allison Mejia, all of New Paris. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Beverly Hook and Demetrio and Amelia Mejia.
A Life Celebration visitation will be held on Dec. 13 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Titus Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Syracuse located at 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. A Mass of Christian burial will be held the following day on Dec. 14 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 109 W. Monroe St., Goshen, starting at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Following mass final disposition will occur at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Milford.
