Patricia “Patty” C. Watters, 92, passed away quietly surrounded by family on Nov. 27, 2023, at Cedar Creek of Warsaw.
She was born in Flint, Mich., on Feb. 14, 1931, the elder daughter of the late Carroll and Dorothy Barr.
Patty was known for her love of the water, sailing, swimming and sunshine. In her spare time, she enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, traveling the world and vacationing in Florida and Mexico. She and her late husband enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, traveling in their RV and spending many summer days on the lake with their children and grandchildren. She and her husband founded Rex’s Rendezvous, an American Tavern, in downtown Warsaw, where she was loved and admired b everyone that came in contact with, and which is still operated by the Watters family. More than anything, she loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Family was always her first priority and she was revered by family and friends alike for her consistent smile, ability to make everything better and her incredible kindness and sense of humor.
She is survived by her children, Rex (Dana) Watters, Randy Watters, Rene Townsend, Roxanne (Rick) Berghoff, Roseanne (Mike) Diamente, Ricky (Diana) Watters, Robin (Connie) Watters, 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Jackie Didier.
She was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Rex F. Watters.
A celebration of life will take place on Dec. 17 at 2 p.m. with calling one hour prior at Anthony Wayne First Church of God, 6012 S. Bend Drive, Fort Wayne.
Memorial arrangements are being provided by Covington Memorial Funeral Home in Fort Wayne.
