Local High School Sports Recaps For Saturday, December 2

Boys Basketball
Huntington North at Warsaw

Warsaw made it three wins in as many tries to begin the season on Saturday night, defeating Huntington North 63-50 at the Tiger Den on Saturday. The Tigers are now 3-0 this winter.
For the second straight night, Luke Bricker and Brandt Martin had it going on offense, with Bricker pouring in a career-high 30 points while Martin added 18. Drew Sullivan scored eight points to round out the top three scorers.
The Tigers are back in action next Saturday night at home against Fort Wayne North Side.
Wawasee at West Noble
Wawasee continued its winning ways on Saturday evening, defeating West Noble 50-48 in a nail-biter on the road. The Warriors improve to 3-1 this season.
No stats were available for Wawasee. The Warriors will take on fellow area school Whitko on Saturday night in South Whitley.
Bremen at Tippecanoe Valley
Tippecanoe Valley was able to secure its first win of the season on Saturday, defeating Bremen 55-30 at home. The Vikings are now 1-2 this winter.
No stats were available for Tippecanoe Valley. The Vikings are back in action Friday night at home against Morgan Township.
Whitko at Smith Academy
Whitko looked dominant once again on Saturday night, coming away with a huge 78-25 win over Smith Academy on the road. The Wildcats are now 3-1 this season.
Four different Whitko players finished in double figures scoring, led by Kyler Krull and his 23 points. Easton Grable scored 14 points while Riley Harman added 12. Sam Essegian had a double-double, scoring eleven points and grabbing eleven rebounds.
Whitko also played on Friday night, falling 52-47 to Bellmont. Krull led the team with 16 points in the loss.
The Wildcats will play host to the Warriors of Wawasee on Saturday night.
Lakeland Christian at Hamilton
Lakeland Christian is still searching for its first win of the season after falling 29-27 to Hamilton on Saturday. The Cougars are now 0-3 this season.
Micah Martin led the team in scoring with 14 points. Josiah Rice added nine while Jashawn Zielasko and Ethan Gaff both scored two.
LCA will remain on the road for their next game on Tuesday at Triton.
Manchester at Wawasee
Manchester is still undefeated after picking up a big win over Wawasee on Friday night, winning 60-44 on the road. The Squires are now 3-0 this season.
Gavin Betten had another huge game, scoring 26 points to go with seven rebounds and six assists. Ethan Hendrix got into double figures for the third straight game as well, finishing with 13 points and four steals.
Manchester plays at Winamac on Tuesday night.
Girls Basketball
Warsaw at Westfield

Warsaw had its winning streak snapped by Westfield Saturday night, as the Lady Tigers fell 60-51 to Westfield on the road. Warsaw is now 6-3 this season.
Joslyn Bricker led the team with 15 points while Brooke Zartman added 14. Brooke Winchester just missed out on a double-double, scoring 12 points and adding nine rebounds.
The Lady Tigers also played on Friday night, defeating Ben Davis 52-41 on the road.
Warsaw is back at home on Wednesday against Carroll.
Northfield at Manchester
Manchester continued its fine play as of late, getting above .500 with a 60-55 win over Northfield Saturday night. The Lady Squires are now 5-4 this winter, 2-1 in the Three Rivers Conference.
Emma Walker scored 17 points to lead her team while Brookelynn Buzzard added 14. Gracie Lauer had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Manchester is on the road Tuesday evening at Huntington North.
Whitko at North Miami
Whitko remains undefeated in Three Rivers Conference play Saturday night, defeating North Miami 57-42 on the road. The Lady ‘Cats are now 6-2 this season, 2-0 in the TRC.
Braisha Harrison led Whitko with 16 points. Adriyanna Phillips scored 12 points while Kloe Krieg added 10.
Whitko will take on Manchester Friday night at home for a big conference matchup.
Knox at Triton
Triton was unable to pick up its third win in a row on Saturday afternoon, falling 59-45 to Knox at home. The Lady Trojans are now 3-6 this winter.
Addyson Viers carried the load scoring the ball, scoring 27 points for her team. Sydney King and Sierra Hawley each added seven.
Triton will play its next game Wednesday at home against Tippecanoe Valley.
