Historical Warsaw

Editor, Times-Union:
I am a full-fledged supporter of municipal planning for the future. Our local governments were somewhat tardy getting going, but now are making a real impact.
However, the lack of careful consideration for the past became very obvious when an historically significant 250-year-old tree nearly fell victim to the planning bulldozer. I wonder how many important historical sites have gone unnoticed as we move quickly to catch up in future planning.
I believe we need to somehow plan to renovate historically significant older homes and business structures before these are ripped up for office and duplex rental use. Can you imagine the beauty of those homes as one drives into the city?
But, alas it all takes money that most folks just do not have. Warsaw is a lovely place. I'd like it to be more historically significant, too.
