A property at 330 N. Buffalo St., Warsaw, was brought before the city's code enforcement on Tuesday to address a purchase agreement of the property.
Community and Economic Development Director Jeremy Skinner spoke at the hearing on behalf of the Warsaw Redevelopment Commission and the property's owners, Eric and Rachael Seeber. The commission and the owners have entered into a purchase agreement for the vacant house's acquisition.
In other business, due to the work on the front steps at 707 E. Center St. not being completed at the time of the hearing, Hearing Officer Tom Earhart fined the property's owner, John Wise, $150.
Little Crow Lofts was able to hire a contractor, New Genesis, to fix the water intrusion issues. Progress has been made, with the next step being an appointment with the building inspector to come and evaluate the progress in-person.
A complaint was brought to the hearing by a resident of one of the three units at Little Crow being worked on about the heavy dust in the apartments. Earhart addressed the issue and asked the property manager present if they would have a problem complying to the requests of carpet and duct cleaning. The manager said it would not be a problem.
Other business covered in the meeting:
• Both of the properties under Shafer Rental have seen significant progress and will be addressed at the next code enforcement meeting.
• The property at 731 W. Market St. has been sold to Gray Investments, pending closing supposed to take place on Tuesday, Aug. 29.
• The Economy Inn has made significant progress with their updates and repairs and will continue giving updates at the next meeting.
The next Code Hearing will take place on Sept. 26.
