Beverly June Konkle

August 29, 2023 at 5:30 p.m.

Beverly June Konkle, a longtime resident of Warsaw, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her many loved ones at 11:44 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 28, 2023, in Columbia City at the age of 83.
She was born on Sept. 14, 1939, in Niles, Mich., to Harriet Hargraves George and Gerald Harrison George. On Sept. 24, 1994, she married LeRoy Eugene Konkle and they shared 26 years of marriage together before LeRoy passed away on Dec. 10, 2020.
Beverly moved to Warsaw with her family in 1964. She worked at several jobs throughout her life, always making sure her family was taken care of. Her most recent job before retiring was working as a clerk at Walmart where she was a smiling and familiar face. Beverly enjoyed the fellowship of her church family at God’s Highway to Heaven Church in Warsaw where she was very active. She was great with her hands and detail work and loved to sew, making bed dolls for her many nieces. Beverly was definitely a very hands-on grandmother with a never-ending amount of love to share. Family was the LOVE of her life and she was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and dear friend to many. Beverly would most want to be remembered for her love and faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ.
She leaves behind two sons: David (Michelle) Shepherd, Moncks Corner, S.C.; Danny (Lisa) Shepherd, Warsaw; four daughters: Billie (Doug) Myers, Columbia City; Sherri Day Sanders, Louisville, Ky.; Julie (Bill) Kaladadi, Elkhart; and Lori Adams, Ogden, Utah. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and her sister, Dottie (Lee) Bentley, Westville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters, two sons, one granddaughter, three brothers and six sisters.
Friends and family may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 31 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
Beverly’s life will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 1 at God’s Highway to Heaven Church, 555 Weber St., Warsaw, and officiated by Pastor Bob Brown. A graveside service will follow at Palestine Cemetery in Palestine.
Memorial donations may be directed to Parkview Home Health & Hospice, 105 Madison St., Columbia City, IN 46725.
Online condolences may be sent through the funeral home’s website at www.redpathfruthfuneralhome.com.
