Connie Heckaman

SYRACUSE – Connie Heckaman, 86, of Syracuse, passed away on Aug. 24, 2023, at The Waters of Syracuse.
She was born on May 21, 1937, at the family home on Lake Wawasee to John and Anna Rex Sudlow. Connie went to nursing school, and earned her R.N. It was during this time in her life she met David Heckaman as a patient. They would unite in marriage on Oct. 20, 1962. David would precede her in 2012. Her and David would eventually run the family business, Sudlow's Pier Shop, for many years prior to their retirement.
Connie leaves behind her son, John (Kelly) Heckaman; daughter-in-law, Dawn Heckaman; grandchildren: Caitlin (Robert) Pavey, Alec Heckaman and Jamsey (Blake O'Connell) Heckaman; two great-grandchildren, Colter and Harper. Along with her husband David, she was preceded by her son, Rex.
Services will be held on Monday, Aug. 28 at 2 p.m. at Eastlund Funeral Home. Calling will be two hours prior to the service from noon until 2 p.m. Burial will follow at the McClintic Cemetery.
