Boys Soccer
Warsaw at Huntington North
Warsaw boys soccer is still undefeated after coming away with yet another with Tuesday night, defeating Huntington North 6-0 on the road, The Tigers are now 4-0 on the young season.
Five different Warsaw players scored the six goals. Callen O’Brien had two, Noah Van Puffelen, Eduardo Escutia and Camden Lennox all added another, and Isaiah Lara rounded out the scoring with a penalty kick. Finley Bailey preserved the shutout in net by stopping a PK of his own.
The Tigers’ first Northern Lakes Conference game against Plymouth Thursday night has been postponed to August 28. Warsaw’s next game will be played Saturday against Mishawaka Marian.
Wawasee at Bethany Christian
It was a tough day for Wawasee boys soccer on Tuesday, as the Warriors fell 8-0 to Bethany Christian on the road. Wawasee is now 1-2 this fall.
Weston McClintin made six saves in net for the Warriors, who are scheduled to play their next game Thursday evening at Culver Academy.
Tippecanoe Valley at Wabash
Tippecanoe Valley remains unbeaten after winning once again on Tuesday, taking down Wabash 4-1 on the road. The Vikings are now 2-0 this season.
Eric Eikenberry led the way for Valley, scoring two of the team’s four goals. Jake England got himself onto the score sheet by getting one past the keeper, and Gio Arriaga finished his night with a goal and two assists. Julian Rosas stopped three of the four shots he faced.
The Vikings will stay on the road for a game Thursday evening at Caston.
Lakewood Park Christian at Lakeland Christian
Lakeland Christian was able to pick up its first win of the season Tuesday night, defeating Lakewood Park Christian 1-0 at home. The Cougars are now 1-2 this season.
An early goal would be enough for LCA to come away with a victory. Zaiden Miller assisted a Jashawn Zielasko goal in the eighth minute for the game’s only score. Braden Weirick made four saves in goal.
The Cougars host North Miami on Saturday for the team’s next game.
Girls Soccer
Plymouth at Warsaw
Warsaw girls soccer picked up its first win of the year in its first Northern Lakes Conference game of the season Tuesday night, defeating Plymouth 9-0 at home. The Lady Tigers are now 1-2-1 this fall, 1-0 in the NLC.
Natalie Brown scored four goals for Warsaw while Lola Pepper scored two of her own and assisted on three more. Haiyden Elliot, Abbi Koehler and Sarah Kratzsch all added goals to round out the scoring.
The Lady Tigers will continue conference play on Tuesday when the team travels to Goshen for a meeting with the RedHawks.
Manchester at Wawasee
Manchester emerged victorious in a nonconference showdown between two local teams on Tuesday, defeating Wawasee 3-0 on the road. The Lady Squires improve to 2-1 this season while the Lady Warriors fall to 1-3.
Samantha Shock scored two of Manchester’s three goals. The third was added by Ava Sautter. Grace Smith stopped all four Wawasee shots she saw.
Both teams are in action Thursday evening, with Manchester at home against Oak Hill and Wawasee playing at Bethany Christian.
Volleyball
Wawasee at Central Noble
Wawasee volleyball picked up its second straight win Tuesday evening, defeating Central Noble 3-2 on the road. The LAdy Warriors are now 2-2 after the short winning streak and will try to make it three in a row Thursday night against Bethany Christian.
Whitko at Churubusco
Whitko dropped its second straight game on Tuesday night, falling 3-0 (25-14, 25-12, 25-9) to Churubusco. The Lady ‘Cats are now 1-2 this season and will look to get back into the win column Thursday evening against new Three Rivers Conference opponent Lewis Cass.
Triton at Bremen
Triton’s impressive start to the season continued Tuesday night as the Lady Trojans earned a 3-0 (25-7, 26-24, 25-9) victory over Bremen. Triton is now 3-1 this season.
Addyson Viers led her team in kills once again, finishing with 15. Macie Hensley had six kills and led the Lady Trojans with seven blocks. Hannah Snyder finished with 26 assists. Sierra Hawley had 15 digs.
Triton is home on Thursday night for a game against Argos.
