Boys Soccer
Warsaw at St. Joseph

It was another massive day for Warsaw boys soccer and Noah Van Puffelen Thursday night, as the Tigers defeated South Bend St. Joseph 5-1 to remain undefeated and improve to 3-0 this season.
All five Warsaw goals were scored by Van Puffelen, who has been outstanding so far in the early season. Van Puffelen was assisted by Mydin Burgher twice, Knox Ritter, Rylan Smith, and Julian Saldivar. The goal allowed by the Tigers was the first against the team this season.
Warsaw will look to make it four wins in a row Tuesday night at Huntington North.
South Bend Riley at Wawasee
Wawasee boys soccer earned its first win of the season at home Thursday night, defeating South Bend Riley 4-1. The Warriors are now 1-1 this fall.
Quentin Taylor scored a goal and added an assist for the home side. Josh Trujillo and Xavier Washington added goals as well.
Wawasee will try to make it two wins in a row Tuesday night on the road at Bethany Christian.
Central Noble at Tippecanoe Valley
Tippecanoe Valley opened up its boys soccer season with a dominant win Thursday night, defeating Central Noble 7-0 at home. The Vikings begin the season with a 1-0 mark.
Six of Valley’s seven goals were scored by two players. Gio Arriaga and Eric Eikenberry both scored hat tricks for the Vikings, with each player adding an assist as well. The team’s seventh goal came off the boot of Carson Craft.
Tippy Valley is back in action Tuesday night on the road against Wabash.
Peru at Manchester
It was an opening day to remember for the Manchester boys soccer team on Thursday, as the Squires defeated Peru 9-0 at home to start off the season in style. Manchester is now 1-0.
Tyler McLain made his mark on the contest, finishing his night with four goals and an assist. Nathaniel Miller added two goals as well. Dylan Hernandez, Diego Munoz and Lasse Jansen all scored once.
The Squires will look to make it two wins in a row Monday evening at home against Norwell.
Girls Soccer
Tippecanoe Valley at Wabash

Tippecanoe Valley is still searching for the first win of its girls soccer season after a 4-1 road loss to Wabash Thursday evening. The Lady Vikings are 0-2 to begin the season.
Valley’s next opportunity for a win comes Monday evening on the road at NorthWood.
Volleyball
Oak Hill at Manchester

A hard fought match on Thursday night resulted in the first loss of the season for Manchester, as the Lady Squires fell 3-2 (25-23, 23-25, 25-19, 18-25, 10-15) to Oak Hill at home. Manchester is now 2-1 this season.
Olivia Davis led her team in kills with eight, followed by Gracie Lauer and McKelvey Espeset who each had seven. Paxton Baker had 19 digs and three aces, both team highs. Peyton Ream led the Lady Squires with 28 assists.
Manchester’s next game comes Thursday night at North Miami.
Lakewood Park Christian at Lakeland Christian
Lakeland Christian volleyball battled hard in its home opener Thursday night, but fell just short in a 3-2 (26-24, 25-23, 13-25, 16-25, 12-15) loss to Lakewood Park Christian. The Lady Cougars are now 1-5 this fall.
Lani Calizo and Nevaeh Lowe each had five kills for LCA. Addisyn Daley led her team in digs with 21 while Leah Forshtay had 18 assists and four aces.
Lakeland Christian is back in action Thursday evening at home against the MCAC Wildcats.
