WARSAW – The Warsaw Aquatic Club (WAC) is excited to return to the pool for the 2023-2024 season. A non-profit competitive youth swim team, the WAC is committed to providing outstanding opportunities for healthy living and water safety in our community. The WAC gives every swimmer the opportunity to develop their full potential as an athlete, instilling the values of hard work and persistence. The team averages over seventy swimmers each season, from kindergarten to high school, and last year set a record of eighty-nine swimmers. Come join our growing team!
In order to be eligible, swimmers must be at least five years old and able to swim a 25-yard freestyle, or one length of the high school pool, with rotary breathing and a steady kick; they must also swim a 25-yard backstroke with little or no stopping. New swimmers may come try out at the Warsaw Community High School Pool on Monday, September 18th or Tuesday, September 19th from 5:30-6:15 p.m. Swimmers will then be placed with others of similar ability in the Bronze, Copper, Silver, or Gold levels. Following tryouts, new swimmers may enjoy a two-week trial for $20 before committing to the team.
Our season runs through February, with divisional and state meets in March for qualifying athletes, and swimmers can choose which days they attend practice; Bronze and Copper swimmers practice from 5:30-6:15 p.m. and Silver and Gold swimmers from 5:30-7 p.m. Meets are held on weekends, and swimmers may select the meets in which they wish to compete.
