Softball

NorthWood at Warsaw


Warsaw was unable to pick up a conference victory against NorthWood Monday night, falling 12-3 at home. The Lady Tigers are now 1-9 this season, 1-3 in the Northern Lakes Conference.

Kali Ousley and Addison Eastwood each had two hits to lead Warsaw, with Ousley driving in a run. Lauren Eastwood had a hit and an RBI.

The Lady Tigers are back at home for another conference game against Northridge. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

Tippecanoe Valley at Rochester

Tippecanoe Valley earned a win over rival Rochester Monday night, winning 6-4. The Lady Vikings are now 7-3 this spring, 2-0 in the Three Rivers Conference.

Seniors Molly Moriarty and Corinna Stiles paved the way for Valley offensively, with Moriarty totaling two RBIs and Stiles leading the team with two hits. Dalynne Bussard got the win on the mound, pitching a complete game, retiring the final eleven batters she faced and striking out 10 while only giving up one earned run on three hits.

The Lady Vikings are on the road at Peru Wednesday evening at 6 p.m.

Wawasee at Northridge

Wawasee was unable to hold onto an early lead Monday night, eventually dropping its game 6-5 to conference foe Northridge. The Warriors are now 8-6, 1-3 in the NLC.

Haylee Allen did it all for the Warriors, striking out eight on the mound while tallying three hits, one for extra bases, at the plate. Evelyn Duncan had three RBIs to lead the team. Ava Couture also contributed to the offense, hitting a homerun.

Wawasee takes on Plymouth at home Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m.

Manchester at Northfield

Manchester came out on top of a high-scoring affair Monday night, edging Northfield 12-10 on the road. The Lady Squires are now 3-10, 1-1 in the TRC.

Three different Manchester players drove in two runs or more, led by Paxton Baker, who went 4-4 with a triple, scoring four runs of her own. McKelvey Espeset went 3-4 with two runs driven in.

The Lady Squires will look to make it two wins in a row Wednesday night against Maconaquah. First pitch scheduled for 5 p.m.

Whitko at Peru

Whitko was able to produce a lot of offense but was unable to come away with a win at Peru Monday night, losing 12-10. The Lady ‘Cats are now 1-7 this season, 0-2 in the TRC.

Addie Garr struck out seven on the mound. Hope Bradley had three hits, one being a triple. Kaylee Adkins also added two hits.

Whitko plays at North Miami Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m.

LaVille at Triton

Triton earned its first win of the season in dominant fashion Monday evening, defeating LaVille 19-1 in five innings. The Lady Trojans are now 1-10 this season, 1-1 in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference.

Five Triton players drove in at least two runs, with Sierra Hawley and Hannah Snyder each driving in three. Clara Doll, Lena Doll and Macie Hensely each had two RBIs. Lena Doll gave up just four hits in five innings, striking out 10.

The Lady Trojans will look to make it two in a row Thursday at Bremen. First pitch scheduled for 5 p.m.

Baseball

Warsaw at NorthWood


Warsaw was unable to put up enough offense to come away with a road win against NorthWood Monday night, as the Tigers fell 5-2. Warsaw is now 5-5-1, 2-2 in the NLC.

Josh Reihl carried most of the offensive load for Warsaw, smacking two of the team’s four hits, one for extra bases, and driving in a run. Jette Woodward had a triple.

The Tigers will look to get back on track Wednesday evening at Northridge. First pitch at 5:30 p.m.

Tippecanoe Valley at Rochester

Tippecanoe Valley was unable to pick up a road win Monday night, falling 13-3 to Rochester in six innings. The Vikings are now 4-5 this spring, 1-1 in the TRC.

Markus Bernicky drove in all three runs for the Vikings on a first-inning home run. Rochester hit five home runs off of the Valley pitching staff.

Tippy Valley will look to get back in the win column Wednesday evening against Peru at 6 p.m.

Northridge at Wawasee

Wawasee dropped its third game in a row Monday night, falling 14-4 to Northridge in five innings. The Warriors are now 1-9 this season, 1-3 in the NLC.

It was a tough evening for the Wawasee defense, which committed seven errors on the night. The Warriors will look for a win Wednesday at Plymouth. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

Manchester at Northfield

Manchester won its second game in a row Monday night, defeating Northfield 5-1. The Squires are now 7-5 this season and remain undefeated in the TRC at 2-0.

Gavin Martin drove in three runs for Manchester while Riess Gaerte had two hits and two RBIs. Evan Martynowicz was masterful on the mound, striking out 10 in seven innings of work while only giving up one earned run.

The Squires will look to make it three in a row Wednesday night at home against Maconaquah. First pitch scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

Whitko at Peru

Whitko’s torrid start to the season continued Monday night with a 6-1 win over Peru. The Wildcats are now 9-2 this spring, 1-1 in the TRC.

David Ousley was 2-2 with a sacrifice fly, driving in two runs in the process. Breyden Kirkdorffer drove in a run on a double. Isaiah Cripe got the win, giving up just one run in six innings of work while striking out two.

Whitko will try for another win Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m. on the road against North Miami.

Triton at Bethany Christian

Triton dropped a competitive game Monday evening, falling 6-4 at Bethany Christian. The Trojans are now 4-9 this spring.

Zac Greer had an RBI for Triton while also striking out four on the mound. Isaiah Vaca and Drew Bingamon each had a base hit.

Triton is off until Thursday, when the team will play the first of back-to-back games against Knox. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

Tennis

Fort Wayne Carroll at Warsaw


Warsaw picked up a nonconference win against Fort Wayne Carroll Monday afternoon, taking the match 3-2. The Lady Tigers are now 2-3 this season.

No. 1 singles player Addie Lind won her match in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3. No. 3 singles competitor Emma Van Puffelen also enjoyed a straight-set victory, winning 6-2, 6-1. The No. 1 doubles pairing of Clara Porter and Claire Reichenbach fought through and bounced back from a tough second set to win their match 6-0, 2-6, 6-4.

Warsaw plays at Homestead Wednesday evening at 5 p.m.

Bremen at Wawasee

Wawasee picked up a narrow victory over Bremen Monday evening, winning 3-2 at home.

No. 1 singles player Kiah Farrington won her match easily, picking up a 6-1, 6-2 win. No. 1 doubles pairing Allison Clark and Kenley Stewart were perfect in their victory, winning the match 6-0, 6-0.

Wawasee hosts conference rival Warsaw Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.

Manchester at Rochester

Manchester tennis continues to look like a juggernaut after another 5-0 win Monday night, this time against Rochester. The Lady Squires are now 8-0 this spring, 4-0 in the TRC.

All five of Manchester’s victories came in straight sets, with no player losing more than two games. All three singles players (Sarah Kerlin, Myla Crozier and Bethany Penrod) earned 6-1, 6-1 wins. The No. 2 doubles team of Addison Brubaker and Hailey Krom won 6-0, 6-1.

Manchester will look to remain undefeated Thursday against Fort Wayne Carroll.

Whitko at Columbia City

Whitko was defeated 4-1 by Columbia City on the road Monday night.

The lone Whitko win came from No. 3 singles player Jayda Gregory. Gregory won her match in dominant fashion, 6-0, 6-1.

Softball
