Student’s Job Title: Engineering Intern

Supervisor: Phil Mercier, president

What are your job responsibilities: I am an engineering intern. I operate the CNC machine as well as the laser engraver.  I also work on 2D modeling and help design products for our customers.

How has this position been helpful to you? This position has helped me confirm that engineering is a career that I want to pursue  in the future. It has also helped prepare me for college and future job opportunities.

What have you learned? I have learned many new and exciting things.  Everything that I work with at my job has been taught to me there.  They have taught me how to use the CNC machine, laser engraver and our software.

How is this job preparing  you for the future?  This job has taught me many new skills that I would not have learned in a class setting. I have learned how to use new tools and software.

What do you like about this job?  I have liked all of my experiences at this job.  I have learned so many new things, and I am grateful for the opportunity to intern at the company.

What Career Center classes have you taken in your pathway? Introduction to Engineering Design, Principles of Engineering, and Engineering Design and Development.

Your Career and College Plans: I plan to go to Trine University to study chemical engineering.
