Loren and Kathryn Wise Melton celebrated their 50th anniversary Friday.

They were married April 14, 1973, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Warsaw.

Loren is retired. He is the  former town marshal and utility superintendent of Etna Green. He was also maintenance superintendent for Gulf Stream Coach  and volunteer fireman for over 50 years was Etna Township First Responders. He worked at Hoosier Lakes Radio Club and Ham Radio as an operator/instructor.

Kathryn is retired. She’s a homemaker and former floral assistant at Floral Fashions, Griffith; former tri-chem instructor, former member KC Extension Homemakers, Atwood Home Study, former Girl Scout leader.

They are parents to two amazing daughters, a pretty swell son and grandparents to three very cool grandchildren. Their children would like to go on record to say, “we have awesome parents! We wouldn't be the delightful humans that we are today without their infinite love and patience. We love you both!”

Their children are Sarah Melton, Atwood; Laura Herring (Shane), Warsaw;  and David Melton, Warsaw. Grandchildren are Jordan Lavassaur, Elijah Herring and Kyleigh Herring

The anniversary will be celebrated at home with an excursion planned for later in the year.
