Westfield also provided two of the individual medalists, with Jake Cesare posting a 68 to finish in first place, while Cam Kooi finished in third with a 69. Homestead’s Ryan Parker also posted a 69, finishing in second.
The Warsaw team took fifth place in the tournament, tallying a 321. The Tigers were led by a 78 from Austin Craig and a 79 from Breckin Christner. Both players earned top-20 finishes. Aiden Bowell scored an 80 to finish third on the team.
The other local team competing in the tournament, Triton, settled for a fifteenth place finish. Tucker Worsham led the Trojans with a 97, with Landon Patrick finishing second on the team with a 111.
Dicken served as the first ever golf professional at Rozella Ford Golf Course, holding the title for 35 years. Throughout his career, he was honored as the Golf Professional of the Year in 1993 as well as Teacher and Merchandiser of the Year by the PGA. He was also one of the first golfers to earn master status from the PGA. Dicken passed away in September of 2021 at the age of 87. Sondra Dicken, Don’s wife of 61 years, as well as his son Steve, presented the team award as well as individual medals to the tournament’s winners.
“Don Dicken was a legend. He was a good friend and even better mentor,” Stonehenge head golf professional Craig Isabel said before the tournament began. “He would bring out 15 to 20 putters and test all of them on the green before we’d eat lunch. He was still searching for the secret until the very end and loved the quest of finding the answer. His legacy will live on for many, many years.”
