By Staff Report-

The Northern Indiana Hispanic Health Coalition (NIHHC), in partnership with the National Kidney Foundation (NKF), Bowen Center, the city of Warsaw, Robert Weed, Grace College and Maple Leaf Farms, will provide free health screenings and vaccinations at NIHHC’s Health Fair on April 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 225 Gilliam Drive, Warsaw.

Kosciusko County Health Department and the Indiana Department of Health are sponsoring COVID-19 and flu shots, and Walmart will provide vision screenings. Thanks to a donation from Zimmer Biomet, COVID-19 home testing kits will be available, according to a news release from Northern Indiana Hispanic Health Coalition.

The following services will be offered: kidney screenings including urinalysis (protein in urine) and creatinine, lipid panel (eight to 12 hours fasting required), cholesterol, glucose, A1C, blood pressure, body mass index, vision, and COVID-19 and flu shots.

Everyone is welcome. No documents are required, and no appointment is necessary. Participants will receive one-on-one review of their health screening results immediately. Community members may call at 574-206-3938 for more information.

To help address transportation needs, NIHHC will distribute a $25 gas gift card to all those who receive a COVID-19 or flu shot. Community members will also receive education on their health screening results. NIHHC’s bilingual trained volunteers and staff, including certified community health workers, will be available to help community members understand their results and determine next steps.
