ROCHESTER – Virginia F. Risner, 81, Rochester, passed away at 12:18 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 2022, at Warsaw Meadows Care Center, Warsaw.

She was born on March 9, 1941, in Truman, Ark., the daughter of Chester Davis and Alberta Baker Davis Schnell. She was raised by her mother and step-father, William Schnell.

Virginia had worked for Walker’s Mufflers, Culver, Rochester Metal Products and retired from Viscase in Kentland. She was known for her strong work ethic and raising six children as a single mother. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, spending time with her family and her cat and Yorkie.

Survivors include her children: Tammy (Timothy) Tilton, Leesburg; Sherry Risner, Murrells Island, S.C.; Debi (Bryan) Johnson, Cassopolis, Mich.; Opy Rogers, Navarre, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Tracy Risner, Rochester; grandchildren: Crystal (Bobby) Dugan, Heather (Nathan) Coy, Eryn (Jason) Roberts, Shelbie Risner, Ty (Jesica) Tilton, Justin Smith, Cruiz Risner, Jeff Risner, Dakota (Lianna) Risner, Skyler Risner; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Alberta Schnell; sons: Dean Adams, Fritz Risner; granddaughter, Amanda Adams; and great-grandchildren: Tayvin Tilton and Violet Risner.

No public services are scheduled.
