“Throughout the COVID pandemic, front line workers have been vital in providing the most basic of care to this vulnerable population,” said Patti Hays, CEO of AWS Foundation. “As cold weather comes and we move back indoors, quality medical-grade masks combined with vaccinations will help protect staff, patients and families from flu, colds and COVID. We thank Lutheran Health Network for making these masks readily available.”
AWS Foundation requested donations of the masks to assist agencies in maintaining staffing levels. Organizations working alongside people with disabilities are currently experiencing a shortage in direct support professionals – the frontline caregivers providing assistance to the vulnerable populations they serve, according to a news release from Lutheran.
“We recognize the integral role these agencies have in the health and well-being of people in our community and are grateful for the opportunity to come alongside them to ensure some of our most vulnerable neighbors can safely continue to receive support,” said Scott Teffeteller, Market CEO for Lutheran Health Network.
The following organizations will receive N95 masks for their direct support professionals: Anthony Wayne Rehabilitation Center/Camp Red Cedar, Arc of LaGrange, Arc of Wabash County, Bi-County Services, Byron Health Center, Cardinal Services, Carey Services, Easterseals Arc of Northeast Indiana, Life Adult Day Academy (LADA), Pathfinders Services and Turnstone.Lutheran Health Network Donates N95s To Support People With Disabilities
