Rex J. Drudge, 89, of rural Mentone,  passed at 10:55 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12, 2022, at Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital of Warsaw.

Rex was born on Jan. 15, 1933, in Kosciusko County, to the late Orville L. Drudge and Mary Jane Stickler Drudge. He was married on June 30, 1956, in Claypool, to Alma G. Setser; she preceded him in death on June 29, 2016.

Rex was a 1951 graduate of Claypool High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He had been a truck driver and retired from Sun Metal of Warsaw after 33 years, where he worked in shipping and manufacturing. Rex enjoyed going out to eat all around the area. He also traveled to many different states following his passion for fishing.

He is survived by his children: Eddie and wife Rebecca Drudge, of Claypool; John and wife Karla Drudge, of Warsaw; and Rose Zartman, of Leesburg; daughter-in-law, Christina Books Drudge, Jacksonville, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren; and sister, Martha Klinger, of Atwood.

Rex was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alma Drudge; and son, Rodger Dean Drudge (July 2022); sister, Marie Applegate; and a brother, Norman E. Drudge.

Memorial visitation will take place from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 16 at Cook's Chapel Church, 4567 W. CR 100S, Warsaw, with military honors at 11 a.m. A memorial service will take place following the military honors officiated by Pastor Earl Futch.  

The arrangements have been entrusted to King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone.

Rex will be interred next to his wife in the Harrison Center Cemetery, Etna Green.

Memorial contributions can be made to the VFW Post 1126 of Warsaw.
