She was born on Feb. 7, 1931, in Whitley County to William and Jennie Freeman Brandenburg. On Feb. 25, 1949, she married Robert Willard, who preceded her in 1967.
She was a self-employed house cleaner for 28 years before retiring. She enjoyed having garage sales for years. Joan is survived by her two daughters: Connie (Robert) Williamson, of Homosassa, Fla.; and Carol Ann (Brent Rose) Carpenter, of North Webster; one son, Charles Willard, of Milford; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Along with her husband, she was also preceded by her brother, Floyd Brandenburg; and sister, Phyllis Bennett.
Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 11 a.m. at the Eastlund Funeral Home with calling one hour prior. Burial will follow at the North Webster Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the North Webster Fire Department.
