By Staff Report-
New scholars are either graduating high school seniors or first-year college students who will receive Questa funding for the duration of their academic programs. In addition to the Traditional Scholars program, Questa funds returning college students and adult learners through the Contemporary Scholars program, according to a news release from Questa Education Foundation.
Questa announced the following Questa Scholar recipients of Kosciusko County:
Abigail Arter, Whitko High School, Grace College; Bryce England, Tippecanoe Valley High School, Ivy Tech; Karissa Hanes, Lakeland Christian Academy, Grace College; Mariah Hurst, Wawasee High School, Trine University; Jasmine Jimenez, Warsaw Community High School, Indiana University - South Bend; Austin Kreps, Whitko High School, Trine University; Hailey Locke, Warsaw Community High School, Manchester University; Megan Mishler, Warsaw Community High School, University of Saint Francis; Kiersten Parker, Warsaw Community High School, University of Saint Francis; Abbigail Porter, Warsaw Community High School, Indiana Wesleyan University; Abigail Sanner, Warsaw Community High School, Trine University; and Avery Sleeth, Warsaw Community High School, Grace College.
Each student will be pursuing degrees in a broad array of fields, including business, computer science, construction management, engineering, finance and nursing, among others. Questa Scholars plan to join the Northeast Indiana workforce after graduation, helping to build the talent pool and the community.
Questa Education Foundation’s one-of-a-kind funding provides the possibility of receiving loan forgiveness up to 75% of the total loan amount. When scholars live and work in Northeast Indiana for five years after graduation, 50% of their loans are forgiven. Students can receive another 25% forgiveness by attending a regional partner school. This incentive for scholars to live and work in Northeast Indiana helps businesses and economy grow and benefit from talent retention. Of the students who have graduated from the program, nearly 75% are giving back their talent by living and working in the region.
Questa cannot serve students without the support of donors and funders. Find out more about its programs and how you can support a student at www.questafoundation.org or call 260-407-6494.
