Softball

Rochester at Whitko

WABASH – Whitko will move on to the next round of IHSAA 2A Sectional 37 after defeating Rochester 4-2 Tuesday. Whitko moves to 8-12 this season after beating its conference foe.

Ella Walter had a double that drove in two runs. Guinny Garr accounted for two runs, scoring one and driving in another. Maddie Dafforn got the win on the mound, pitching all seven innings and striking out eight while giving up two unearned runs.

Whitko will look to continue its season Thursday against Lewis Cass.



Girls Tennis

Warsaw at Culver

CULVER – Warsaw continued what has been a fantastic run this season by defeating regional hosts Culver 4-1 to advance to the regional championship Wednesday against Peru.

All three singles players took wins for the Tigers. Addie Lind won her No. 1 singles match in straight sets, 6-4, 6-0. Abby Nicholas and Regan Brouwer both had to battle, and eventually won in three sets, with Nicholas winning 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 6-4.

Results of Warsaw’s regional championship match will be in tomorrow’s paper.
