Softball

Rochester at Tippecanoe Valley

WABASH – Tippecanoe Valley suffered a heartbreaking end to its season Monday, falling to 6-3 to Rochester in nine innings in the opening round of the IHSAA 2A Sectional 37 tournament. The Lady Vikings finish the season at 18-8.

Leading by a run in the seventh inning, Valley allowed Rochester to tie falling in extras. Corinna Stiles helped account for two of the three runs the Lady Vikings scored on a two-run home run in the third.

Tippecanoe Valley will return next season.

Lewis Cass  at Manchester

WABASH – Playing in the second game of the IHSAA 2A Sectional 37 tournament Monday, Manchester dropped a high scoring affair with Lewis Cass 15-12. The Lady Squires finish their season with a 6-17 record.

Manchester will return next season.



Baseball

Warsaw at South Bend St. Joseph

SOUTH BEND – A late inning rally was the difference in a close matchup between Warsaw and St. Joseph Monday, with the home team winning 9-7. The Tigers are now 14-10 this season.

The Tigers had a very balanced day on the offensive side of the ball, with five players driving in runs. Lukas Maier and Khareus Miller both led the team with two hits. Maier added a run scored to go with his RBI.

Warsaw begins sectional play against Goshen Wednesday at Penn High School, weather permitting.

Wawasee at Lakeland

LaGRANGE – Wawasee extended its winning streak to three games with a 6-3 victory over Lakeland Monday. The Warriors are now 10-14 this season.

Grant Brooks led the team in hits with three and RBIs with two. Gavin Malone had two hits and a run scored.

Wawasee begins sectional play against Tippecanoe Valley at Jimtown High School Wednesday, weather permitting.

Tippecanoe Valley at Manchester

NORTH MANCHESTER – Tippecanoe Valley and Manchester wrapped up Three Rivers Conference play Monday; with Valley coming away with an 8-3 win. The Vikings are now 6-9, 4-5 in the TRC, while the Squires fall to 6-15, 4-5 in the TRC,

Manchester got on the board early with two quick runs, but it would be Tippy Valley who would score consistently. Gavin Martin led the Squires in hits with two. Hunter Craft, Markus Bernicky and Cameron Manuel all had two RBIs for the Vikings.

Tippecanoe Valley begins sectional play against Wawasee Wednesday, while Manchester waits for a second round game with Whitko Saturday.

Whitko at Northfield

WABASH – Whitko wrapped up its regular season on the road Monday, falling 9-1 to Northfield. The Wildcats are now 8-17, 1-8 in the TRC.

Whitko takes on Manchester in the second round of sectional play Saturday.

Triton at Argos

ARGOS – Triton wrapped up its regular season with a win over Argos, defeating the Dragons 8-7 on the road. The Trojans are now 3-19 this season.

Tied up at five going into extras, Triton was able to outscore Argos 3-2 in the eighth inning to take the game. Lucas Kaufman had two RBIs on two hits. Dominic Smith scored a run and paced the team in hits with three.

Triton begins sectional play against Culver Community Wednesday at South Central High School, weather permitting.
