By Staff Report-

Warsaw Area Career Center (WACC) Building Trades students recently joined forces with Habitat for Humanity of Kosciusko County. Their mission is to build for local families using local volunteers and contractors.

When WACC students volunteered, they helped a local family make a life-changing move to homeownership, according to a news release from Warsaw Community Schools. Habitat for Humanity of Kosciusko County brings people together to build homes, communities and hope, the release states.

Dallas Lancaster told Ben Barkey, incoming WACC director and principal, "I think it's amazing that we are out here using our abilities and skills to give back to the community; it's going to be helpful to the owner of this house."

Eduardo Escutia said, "I think this is an excellent program. I'm glad to be able to help out with the trusses and help this community."

Dennis Judy, construction manager with Habitat for Humanity of Kosciusko County for three years, appreciated having the WACC students on site, according to the release.

Judy said, "It's been an awesome day watching these students work and do quality work. It has really sped us up and is moving us ahead of schedule; it's more than we can do on our own with our regular volunteers."

WACC Building Trade students include Steven Becerra, Jackson Bradley, Enrique Cantero, Andres Castaneda, Sawyer Darling, Eduardo Escutia, Jack Fitzgerald, Daniel Garcia, Collin Garner, Dylan Heinzman, Armando Juarez-Nunez, Jose Nunez, Everardo Juarez-Sanches, Dallas Lancaster, Jose Lopez, Jackson Mabon, Eduardo Moyotl Acuahuitl, Manuel Nunez, Placido Ramirez Silvestre, Josue Rosales Cordon, Ayden Sherman, Gustavo Vazquez, Louis Vazquez and Jaeziah Winegardner.
