WINONA LAKE - Grace College’s baseball team had two pitchers named to the All-Crossroads League Team on Thursday.

Hunter Schumacher was named Second Team All-Crossroads League after posting a 3.91 ERA. The junior pitcher picked up three wins, a trio of saves and struck out 35 batters across 23 innings.

Evan Etchison joined his teammate on the Second Team All-Crossroads League. Etchinson led Grace with 60.2 innings pitched, and he recorded an incredible 91 strikeouts across his 14 appearances. His 91 strikeouts ranks second all-time in Grace’s team history for a single season.

Etchison had a pair of memorable games as well this year, including a 13-strikeout performance against Goshen and a program-record 16 strikeouts in an appearance against Bethel.

The Lancers' 17 wins this year are the most since 2016 and tied for the fourth-most in program history. Grace also reached double-digit wins in league play for the fourth time ever, including twice under head coach Ryan Roth.

Grace Advances To NCCAA Championship

MOBILE, Ala. - Grace’s men’s tennis team continued its romp through the 2022 NCCAA National Championships, picking up its third straight sweep on Thursday.

The Lancers dispatched Asbury 4-0; Grace finished pool play unbeaten without dropping a single team point across the three matches.

As a result, Grace has secured its spot in the 2022 national championship match. The Lancers, who are aiming for a repeat of their 2021 NCCAA title, will play the finals on Friday morning at 10 a.m. against Judson.

It sets up a national championship rematch as the Lancers defeated Judson 4-0 in last season’s title bout. Grace’s win in 2021 marked the first national championship in team history.

Thursday saw Grace win the doubles’ point to start the match. Facundo Paredes and Ivan Antinori clawed their way to a 7-5 victory at No. 1 doubles, and Fabricio Galvan and Nicolas Doria teamed up for a win at No. 2 (6-2).

Paredes also was victorious at No. 1 singles by the score of 6-1, 6-4. Pablo Gregori (No. 3) and Francisco Margaria (No. 6) collected the final two singles’ wins to secure the match.

All matches of the NCCAA tournament are held at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Ala.
