My name is Scott Clay and on Tuesday I was elected state delegate at-large with 6,940 votes, second only to Craig Snow in this race. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all 6,940 voters in Kosciusko County for electing me to represent you at the state convention.

I was also running for County Council on a campaign platform that promised advancing community connections, fostering business growth and decreasing taxes. I was very happy to receive 40.36% of the vote and I thank all 1,017 voters in Warsaw and Winona Lake for your support on election day.

Thank you to my campaign committee for organizing my fundraisers and helping me make the hard decisions along the journey of running for office. Thank you to each household who was willing to advertise your support through a yard sign. Thank you to each precinct committeeman, business owner and individual who was willing to show support through a letter of endorsement to the editors of Times-Union and InkFree News. Thank you to my supporters who felt compelled to contribute financially and thank you to those who’ve been elected officials either currently or in the past, for your wisdom and leadership and constant advice throughout this campaign. If it were not for your support, I wouldn’t have been able to capture 40.36% of the vote, which is a great accomplishment for my first time running for office.

I gave this campaign everything I had and it all came down to God’s will on election night. I will proudly support Tony Cirello in the general election and I am sure he will do a great job on the council as he has been as our county coroner for years. Hang on to your Clay buttons and yard signs as I am sure you’ll have another opportunity to vote Clay in May.
