SYRACUSE – The Warsaw FFA chapter recently competed in the District 2 FFA Leadership Development Event competitions on April 21 at Wawasee High School in Syracuse.

Leadership Development events range from prepared and impromptu speaking contests to demonstrations, employment skills, job interviews and multimedia scrapbooks. Warsaw FFA also was recognized for their numerous Supervised Agriculture Experience proficiency application awards, District Star in Agribusiness winner and first place District FFA Chapter Meeting contest team, according to a news release from Warsaw Community Schools.

Results from District Leadership Contests are:

• Breanna Thompson, second, Agricultural and Farm Business Management Demonstration

• Alyssa Swanson, second, Agriculture Power, Structure and Technology Demonstration

• Blake Schnackenberg, second, Animal Science Demonstration

• Andon Zehring, third, Novice Animal Science Demonstration

• Lillian Haywood, Cadence Gibson, fourth, Food Science Demonstration

• Kiersten Gagnon, Gentry Hall, sixth, Horticulture Science & Landscape Management Demo

County Commissioners Say ‘No’ To Rezoning For Data Center
A data center won’t be coming to the Leesburg area anytime soon. By a 3-0 vote Tuesday, the Kosciusko County Commissioners upheld the Area Plan Commission’s 8-0 recommendation to deny rezoning over 500 acres from agricultural to industrial-3.
