Grace Men’s Tennis Returning To NCCAA Nationals

WINONA LAKE - Grace’s men’s tennis team has earned a chance to defend its national crown.

The Lancers secured a spot to the 2022 NCCAA National Championships where Grace will have its sights set on repeating as the national champs. The tournament will begin next week, beginning on Tuesday.

Matches will be held at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Ala., the site of last year’s championship moment for the Lancers. Grace’s 2021 championship was the first national title in team history.

Grace is the No. 1 seed in the four-team field and is joined by No. 2 Judson, No. 3 Asbury and No. 4 Oakland City.

Grace will play Oakland City on Tuesday at 10 a.m., Judson on Wednesday at 10 a.m. and Asbury on Thursday at 10 a.m. The national championship match is set for Friday at 10 a.m.



Grace Golf Ends Season At League Championships

CARMEL - Grace’s women’s golf team concluded the Crossroads League Championship on Tuesday at Prairie View Golf Club.

The Lady Lancers began the day in sixth place and maintained that position to conclude the tournament.

In wet conditions, Lucy Young produced Grace’s best round of the tournament over the final 18 holes. She birdied the second hole and parred the back-nine to card a 77 in the last round.

Rebecca Hawes finished level with Young on the individual leaderboard with a tournament total of 246. She ended her collegiate career in memorable fashion, eagling a par five on her final hole.

Summer Stillson (82), Carolyn Pacocha (83) and Grace May (83) all had consistent rounds to wrap up the season.

Grace’s team round average of 329.7 was the second-lowest in program history for the CL Championship.
