Burket UMC To Have Fundraiser

BURKET – The Burket United Methodist Church, 102 Market St., Burket, will sell Nelson’s Port-a-Pit chicken, pork chops and pit-tatoes at the “Big Egg” in Mentone May 13 from 3 to 7 p.m.

Claypool UMC To Have Sunday School

CLAYPOOL – Claypool United Methodist Church, 302 E. Section St., Claypool, will have Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. and church services at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Devotions are every Wednesday from 4:45 to 5:30 p.m.

Pastor Nelson's sermon is "Mothers Love."

On Friday, from 4 to 7 p.m., there will be a baked steak dinner. Adults are $10; children under 6 of age eat free. It will be eat in or carry out, serving until  sold out.

There  will be Communion on Mother's Day serving juice, milk and cookies.



Living Hope To Have Flower Sale

Living Hope Ministries, 595 E.?CR 350N,?Warsaw, will have a one-day pop-up flower market sale Saturday starting at 9 a.m.

There will be an assortment of flower baskets, flower pots, flower plants, baked goods and kettle corn.

Proceeds will go to help with missions and families, church improvement projects and ladies group activities.

Beaver Dam Has Several Events

AKRON – There's a communitywide men's Bible study group meeting on Saturday mornings at Java Jacks in Mentone. Men from several area churches are participating and all are welcome. Breakfast is at 8 a.m. and the study starts at 9 a.m.

On Friday and Saturday, the  NEVER2YOUNG event for junior high youth will be at Indiana Wesleyan; the group will be leaving from Akron Friday at 4:45 p.m. and returning around 2:30 p.m. Saturday.  

On Saturday, there is a Lakeside Committee meeting at 9 a.m. at Beaver Dam United Methodist Church, 9798 W. CR 1000S, Akron.

Sunday is Mother's Day. Service times are 9 and 10:31 a.m. with refreshments served from 10 to 10:30 a.m.

The sermon by Pastor Butch Troke.  

On Tuesday, UWF meeting at the church at 9 a.m.  Wheels on Fire meeting at the church at 6:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, youth group will meet at Akron from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

On May 13, the  Beaver Dam Preschool graduation ceremony is at the church at 7 p.m.

On May 14, Wheels on Fire will be at the Mentone Farmer's Market selling food from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Registration has begun for VBS: "Making Waves in the World with Jesus" from June 20 to 24. It is open to potty-trained 3-year-old to fifth grade. The youth will be helping again this year. You must preregister by June 13 at https://form.123formbuilder.com/1350476/form.
