Baseball

Warsaw at Mishawaka

MISHAWAKA – Warsaw slipped back to .500 overall and in conference play with a 4-3 loss to Mishawaka Monday night. The Tigers are now 6-6 this season, 3-3 in the Northern Lakes Conference.

Josh Shapiro hit an RBI single in the first inning. Kellan Bailey also drove in a run with a base hit. Kyle Showley struck out six hitters in six innings pitched.

Warsaw travels to Wawasee to take on the Warriors Wednesday.

North Miami at Tippecanoe Valley

AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley got back into the win column with a 1-0 victory over North Miami Monday night. The Vikings are now 3-6, 1-3 in the Three Rivers Conference.

Damion Kohler won the game for Tippy Valley in the bottom of the seventh with a sacrifice fly. Markus Bernicky threw a complete game shutout, fanning nine hitters while giving up five hits. Annakin Pettit threw out three base stealers from behind the plate.

The Vikings host Whitko Wednesday.

Wawasee at Concord

ELKHART – Wawasee picked up its first conference win of the season Monday with an 8-4 victory over Concord. The Warriors are now 3-9, 1-5 in the NLC.

Wawasee came out of the gate on fire, scoring six runs in the first inning. Kaleb Salazar led all Warrior hitters with four knocks. Grant Brooks, Ty Brooks and Hunter Ficdeke all added two hits.

The Warriors host Warsaw Wednesday evening.

Whitko at Maconaquah

BUNKER HILL – Whitko fought but was unable to pull out a conference victory at Maconaquah Monday, falling 9-5. The Wildcats are now 5-9, 0-4 in the TRC.

Max Platt had a base hit and two RBIs for Whitko. He also stole a base. Logan Hoffman also added a run batted in to go with his two hits, one for extra bases. David Ousley added a sacrifice fly.

Whitko travels to Tippecanoe Valley for a meeting with the Vikings Wednesday.

Manchester at Wabash

WABASH – Manchester came up short in its conference game at Wabash Monday, losing 5-2. The Squires are now 2-8 this season, 1-3 in the TRC.

Manchester was able to strike first in the top of the second inning, but the three runs scored by the home team in the bottom half of the frame would prove to be the difference.

Manchester travels to Rochester Monday.

Culver Community at Triton

BOURBON – Triton dropped its conference matchup with Culver Community Monday, falling 7-6. The Trojans are now 0-12 this season, 0-7 in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference.

Cory Hill had a great day for Triton, hitting two doubles, driving in a run and scoring one himself. Hill also stole two bases. Dominic Smith also had two base hits, one for extra bases and two runs scored.

Triton takes on South Bend Academies Wednesday.



Softball

Concord at Wawasee

SYRACUSE – Wawasee will look to move on to the next contest after a 23-0 loss at the hands of Concord Monday. The Warriors are now 5-10, 2-4 in the NLC.

Elizabeth Miller and Jaclynn Worrell had Wawasee’s two hits. The Warriors struggled defensively, making six errors on the day that led to ten unearned runs.

Wawasee travels to Warsaw Wednesday.

Mishawaka at Warsaw

WARSAW – Warsaw had its losing streak extended to eight after an 11-4 loss at the hands of conference foe Mishawaka Monday. The Tigers are now 3-11 this season, 1-6 in the NLC.

Taylor Myers had a big moment in the game in the sixth inning, putting together a 2 RBI single with the bases loaded. Makayla Holder also had two runs batted in on two hits.

Warsaw will look to snap its losing streak against Wawasee Wednesday.

North Miami at Tippecanoe Valley

AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley suffered its first conference loss of the spring in a 10-1 loss to North Miami Monday. The Lady Vikings are now 12-5, 3-1 in the NLC.

Despite the final score, the game was close for a majority of the contest, with North Miami holding a 4-0 lead after six innings. MacKaylie Costello had two hits for the Lady Vikings. Corinna Stiles started the game for Valley, giving up three earned runs and four walks while striking out four in five innings.

The Lady Vikings host Whitko in a conference clash Wednesday.

Manchester at Wabash

WABASH – Manchester won its second straight game Monday after picking up a 12-0 victory over Wabash. The Lady Squires are now 3-9, 1-2 in the TRC.

Molly Schannep did it all for Manchester, getting three RBIs off of two hits. She also pitched four scoreless innings, striking out three. Lauren Barrett and Madison Parson both had two RBIs as well, with Parson hitting a double.

Manchester plays Rochester Wednesday evening.

Whitko at Maconaquah

BUNKER HILL – Whitko is still searching for its first conference win after an 8-4 loss to Maconaquah Monday. The Lady ‘Cats are now 3-8, 0-4 in the TRC.

Addie Garr had two hits and two runs batted in, as well as a run scored. Cassidy Skinner and Guinny Garr both had two hits apiece.

Whitko travels to Akron to take on Tippecanoe Valley Wednesday.

Culver Academies at Triton

BOURBON – Triton picked up a win over Culver Academies Monday, edging out the visitors 12-9 in a high scoring game. The Lady Trojans are now 3-11 this season.

Triton will look to make it two in a row Thursday at Jimtown.



Girls Tennis

Fort Wayne Canterbury at Warsaw

WARSAW – Warsaw extended its winning streak to six with a 4-1 victory over Canterbury Monday. The Tigers are now 6-3 this season.

Addie Lind and Regan Brouwer both won their singles matches in straight sets. Both of Warsaw’s doubles pairings picked up victories as well.

Wawasee at West Noble

LIGONIER – Wawasee picked up a nonconference victory over West Noble Monday, winning in a clean 5-0 sweep.

Kiah Farrington stayed dominant at the No. 1 singles spot with a 6-0, 6-0 victory. Allison Clark and Kenley Stewart only dropped two games in their doubles victory, winning 6-2, 6-0.

Tippecanoe Valley at Rochester

ROCHESTER – Tippecanoe Valley kept its strong play going with a 5-0 victory over conference opponent Rochester Monday.

No. 1 singles player Lydia Miller picked up a dominant 6-0, 6-3 victory in her match. The Lady Vikings won all five of their matches in straight sets, including Ella Sandbakken and Nataly Rodriguez’s 6-2, 6-0 victory in No. 2 doubles.
