MILFORD – John W. Moneyheffer, 94, resident of Leesburg and lifetime area resident of Kosciusko County, passed from this life, Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Mason Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw.

John was born at the family home in Kosciusko County on May 18, 1927, to Samuel and Barbara Davidhizar Moneyheffer. He married Betty L. Garman on Dec. 24, 1946; she survives.

John began working on the family farm at a very early age and continued that work until his retirement. He was a hard worker, loved the Lord and was a member of New Salem Church of the Brethren.

John is survived by his wife of 75 years, Betty; a daughter, Connie (Darrell) Bryant, of Florida; two sons: Jim (Cheryl) Moneyheffer, of Warsaw; Ron Moneyheffer, of Texas; seven grandchildren: Cawren, Carmen, Justin, Jamie, Cory, Caleb and Allison; nine great-grandchildren: Kristie, Kierra, Ryley, Conner, Jaden, Ellie, Miranda, Hali, Meadow, Jett and Fern; and one great-great granddaughter, Emelia. Also surviving is a sister, Barbara (Lloyd) Truex, of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Brian Moneyheffer; four brothers: Henry, Delbert, Harvey and Charles; and two sisters: Mabel Horein and Mary Null.

A funeral service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 31 at Mishler Funeral Home, 461 W. CR 900N, Milford; John’s nephew, Duane Moneyheffer, will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday prior to the service. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 1 at Leesburg Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the New Salem Church of the Brethren.
