Edward Richard Peterson, age 88, born Richard Erle Schnur, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2022, at Lutheran Medical Center, Fort Wayne.  

Rich was born July 22, 1933, to Theodore Earl and Irene Stevens Schnur at Red Lake, Beltrami County, Minn. He married Susan Lynette Peterson May 4, 1989.

Edward Peterson was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Susan Lynette Peterson, July 15, 2018, Fort Wayne; sister, Donna J. Flores, May 18, 2009, Kokomo; and his daughter, Cindy Peterson when she was 16, before 1989.

He was a stepfather to two sons: Donathan Everron, Fort Wayne; and Joe Whybrew, Silver Lake; and stepgrandfather to Jared and Justin Whybrew, Silver Lake.

Jobs Rich had included Chicago cab driver, and he retired from being a train conductor with the Chessie Systems Railroad, originally with C&O (Chesapeake & Ohio Railway).  Places he lived included Red Lake, Minn.; Marquette, Mich.; Chicago; Peru, Ind.; Warsaw; and Fort Wayne.

Rich and Sue Peterson chose to donate their bodies to Indiana University School of Medicine, then be cremated for burial with Donathan Everron after his passing.
