McDonald, Gillam Earn Arrow Of Light

SYRACUSE – Syracuse Cub Scout Pack 3828 conferred the Arrow of Light award on Alaina McDonald and Nate Gillam at its annual Blue and Gold Banquet Monday at Saint Andrews United Methodist Church.

The Arrow of Light is the highest rank in Cub Scouting and prepares them to cross over into Boy Scouts. To achieve this rank, the Cub Scouts must be active in a Cub Scout Webelos den for at least six months since completing the fourth grade, earn the Webelos badge and demonstrate knowledge of the requirements to become a Boy Scout. Leaders and members of Syracuse Boy Scout Troop 728 were there to welcome McDonald and Gillam into the troop.

In addition to McDonald and Gillam, many other Cub Scouts received awards and badges and were acknowledged for their achievements in the presence of family and friends at the banquet.

Syracuse Cub Scout Pack 3828 meets at 6 p.m. every Monday at Saint Andrews United Methodist Church, 1413 N. Long Drive, Syracuse. Boys and girls in grades kindergarten through fifth grade are eligible to join.
