CARMEL – While the Warsaw Tigers’ team score improved in the second and final day of the IHSAA boys golf championship from Prairie View golf course, the team’s position dropped by two spots. After shooting a 318 Wednesday, the Tigers finish the tournament with a 637, ten strokes behind podium finishers Indianapolis Cathedral, who overtook four teams on day two to secure the finish.

It was a fantastic day for Cal Hoskins, who finished his Warsaw career on a high note. After shooting a 77 on Tuesday, Hoskins improved to a 69 Wednesday, three strokes under par. The great second round resulted in a top-ten finish in the individual tournament, as Hoskins finished tied for seventh and received All-State honors. He will continue his golfing career at Indiana University.

Shaking out the rest of the scoring for Warsaw were as follows: Ben Brander had an 81, Jaxson Gould an 82 and Jack Yeager an 86. Junior Aidan Bowell shot a 40 in the front nine but was forced to withdraw.

Manchester senior Owen Kruschwitz would shoot an 84 on the day, to bring his tournament total to 165. Kruschwitz would finish tied for 64th place.

Warsaw will return next spring.
