William “Mike” Kelly, 71, of Winona Lake, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022, at Mason Health & Rehabilitation Health Center, Warsaw.

Born Sept. 19, 1950, in Ironton, Ohio, Mike was the son of William Charles and Henrietta Sarah Lykins Kelly. He was united in marriage to MaryAlice Black Kelly on Aug. 25, 1973, in Lakeland, Fla.

Mike worked at Dalton Foundries, retiring with 40 years of service. He  enjoyed his work for Youth for Christ for over 20 years. His activities include teaching the Bible, writing “Letters to the Editor” to the Times-Union, telling stories and reading to children. He was known to joke around a great deal and he thoroughly enjoyed making others laugh. Mike graduated with a bachelor’s degree at the University of South Florida with honors along with a Master of Divinity from Grace. He was a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Winona Grace Brethren Church.

Mike is survived by his wife of 48 years, MaryAlice, of Winona Lake; son, William (Robin) Kelly, of Claypool; daughters: Julia (Michael) Sausaman, of Silver Lake; Mary Elizabeth (Craig) Hansen, of Big Fork, Mont.; Sarah (Steve) Backus, of West Lafayette; one brother, Tim (Tricia) Kelly, of Vista, Calif.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in passing by both parents.

A visitation is planned from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service in celebration of his life will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 16 in the funeral chapel. Pastor John Miller will be officiating the services. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Memorial donations may be made to Baker Youth Club, 1401 E. Smith St., Warsaw, IN 46580.
