Mason Health & Rehab Renovations Part Of A Family’s Dreams

Administrator Breanna Whitehead said there were health care providers with tables and local vendors that had items for sale.
The recent renovations were exterior renovations and a dedicated wing specifically designed for short-term rehabilitation residents, according to a news release from TLC Management. The wing offers eight new private suites for individuals who require nursing care and therapy services while recuperating from a recent hospital stay. The suites are in addition to the seven existing suites Mason already had.
“Our goal is to enrich the lives of our residents by providing an environment that is physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally stimulating. Our therapy team will customize each resident’s rehabilitation needs to optimize function and restore quality of life,” said TLC Management CEO Ryan Ott in the news release.
The therapy center features a “Return to Home” program designed for those who need physical healing. It features virtual-reality workout programs.
Aaron Grindstaff, regional director of operations, said after the ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday the suites used to be Mason’s memory care unit. Mason saw a bigger need for short-term rehabilitation since they were reaching capacity a lot of times with residents that were coming in and Mason didn’t have availability for residents to have a private suite. He said the current memory care residents were able to stay at the facility. However, Mason is not continuing its memory care services to new patients.
Before the ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday, Dennis Ott, vice president of public relations and community services, said the company was excited to show off the renovations.
Dennis said it was part of a dream.
Dennis said his grandmother took care of five or six seniors in her home. She passed that dream on. Dennis’ older brother, Gary, had that dream and he wanted to be the top care provider and top employer. Gary had another dream. He passed the company down to his son, Ryan. Now, Ryan has a dream, Dennis said, which is to make the facilities the “latest and greatest.”
Ryan said TLC Management is a family-run and -operated company and he feels that’s what Warsaw is all about, being family.
“We’re excited about the renovations we’ve done here at Mason. We’ve spent about $400,000 in the last few months doing renovations here. And that’s just the latest one. In recent years, we’ve done internal renovations inside the building to continue to make Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center one of the top facilities in the area,” Ryan said. He said Mason has the highest-star rating in the area for nursing homes.
Grindstaff said Mason had previous renovated its dining room spaces, break rooms and hallways.
Ryan said they had beautiful renovations and a beautiful building, but what they’re really proud of is the people inside.
“You can have a beautiful building, but if there’s not good, quality care and good people inside, it’s like a pig wearing makeup,” Ryan said. The core of the facility is the people inside and its the care Mason gives.
The goal of Mason to take care of other people’s families, Ryan said.
Grindstaff said with the team at Mason, it’s constant and consistent performance and excellence. And that’s important in the community because the residents can be impacted no matter who is working at the facility.
Whitehead said Mason had awesome staff members and had probably centuries of experience among them.
