Warsaw Education Foundation Awards Red Apple Grants

This is the second of two cycles of grant awards for 2021. Teachers will use the remainder of the school year and beyond working on these projects and their students will benefit from the in-depth learning these opportunities provide, according to a provided news release.
Red Apple Grants are awarded to teachers for classroom projects as well as schoolwide projects that advance enrichment opportunities, support innovative and inventive teaching, and promote academic exploration.
Red Apple Grants awarded for fall 2021 are:
• Andrea Miller, Warsaw Area Career Center, Plastic Recycle Shop.
High School students will be setting up a plastic recycling center and learning how to manufacture products, including their own designs, from recycled plastic.
• Rebecca Denzer, Lakeview Middle School, Tiger Time Lego Creators
Middle school students will be collaboratively building complex Lego sets during open library time.
• Robin Coffman, Lakeview Middle School, Merging Science in 3D
Middle school students will be provided with Merge Cubes, 3D models, for discovering science in three dimensions.
Founded in 1987, the Warsaw Education Foundation has awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants to teachers in Warsaw Community Schools through the Red Apple Grant Program. Warsaw Education Foundation strongly believes that investing in academic excellence today will return excellent leadership tomorrow, the release states.
