Barbara B. “Barb” Kieper, 86, of Warsaw, passed away at 7:50 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 10, 2022, at her home.

She was born on March 25, 1935, in Pennsylvania, to Marvell and Margaret Knapp Scheldorf.

She graduated from Blue Island High School in Blue Island, Ill., and was married on June 20, 1953, in Tinley Park, Ill., to Ralph E. Kieper, who survives. She retired from Gallagher Asphalt in Thornton, Ill., in the payroll dept. She grew up in New York and lived in Orland Park, Ill., for many years before moving to Warsaw 30 years ago.

She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Columbia City and formerly attended the Lutheran Church in Tinley Park, Ill.

She is survived by husband, Ralph Kieper, of Warsaw; daughter, Katherine Kieper, of Silver Lake; son, Ricky Kieper, of Valparaiso; two grandchildren: Kelly Miller and Torey Kieper; two great-grandchildren: Bailey and London Miller.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 16 at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home with David Easterday officiating. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. Ind. 15, Warsaw.

Preferred memorials may be given to the Zion Lutheran Church, 101 E. North St., Columbia City, IN 46725.
