Jefferson STEM Elementary School thanks community partners for enriching the lives of students and staff.

Jefferson STEM is surrounded by community partners who champion a whole child approach to ensure that each student is healthy, safe, engaged, supported and challenged, according to a news release from Warsaw Community Schools.

Daniel Scott, instructional coach at Jefferson STEM, said, "Living that philosophy out is another issue altogether. Thankfully, there is a growing number of ways that partners show up that matter deeply to students and to teachers.”

Da-Lite/Legrand volunteers hop in the creek with Jefferson STEM students to look for and study macroinvertebrates while the company provides books and tools focused on renewable energy.

Darci Zolman from the Kosciusko County Soil and Water Conservation District guides students in water monitoring, knowledge of local wetlands and trends with local water and land.

The Lilly Center and Sarah Baier collaborate alongside teachers to plan project-based learning (PBL) experiences and reflect on them to continue improvements in the art of teaching. These are a few of the many ways Jefferson STEM collaborates.

Recently, Jefferson STEM connected with more partners who share the same vision of creating changemakers as well as the same mission of pointing students to consider how to enrich the lives of others now and in the future.

Community partners and the local community are critical to the education of students, and that relationship transcends academic standards. It hits the hearts and minds of students, who are in actuality the future of our community and world, the release states.
