Jacqueline S. “Jackie” Bond, 73, of Milford, passed away at 12:08 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021, at Goshen Hospital.

She was born on Oct. 16, 1948, in Hartford City, to Edward Pearl and Emma Mae McCaffery Long.

She graduated in 1966 from Hartford City High School and then from Amber Beauty School in Muncie. She was married on June 14, 1986, in Syracuse, to Chester William “Chet” Bond, who preceded her on Jan. 2, 2009. She retired as a dispatcher for National Trailer Convoy and Acme Transport for 21 years. She grew up in Hartford City and moved to the Syracuse area 30-plus years from Florida.

She attended the Church of God in Syracuse.

She is survived by two grandchildren: Michael (Ashley) Self, of Goshen; and Jessica Swindle, of Warsaw; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers: Donald (Heidi) Long, of Pensacola, Fla.; and Bob Long, of Marion.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son,  Mark Allen Cordle; daughter, Shelly Kay Self; sister, Brenda Cravens; and two brothers: Edward Long Jr. and Dick Long.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. Ind. 15, Warsaw. Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will take place in Florida. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.

Preferred memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, 5635 W. 96th St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278.
