Boys Basketball

LaVille At Triton

BOURBON – Five Triton Trojans reached double figures in scoring, leading the home team to a 70-54 win over visiting LaVille in Hoosier North Athletic Conference boys basketball Friday night in the Trojan Trench.

Tyson Yates had 17 points for the Trojans. Ashton Oviedo had 14, Caden Graham 12, Cole Shively 11 and Bruce Johnson 10 for Triton.

Cole McKinney led Triton with eight rebounds.

After takeing a five-point lead at the end of the first period, Triton outscored LaVille 17-7 in the second quarter to take a 15-point halftime lead, 34-19. Triton then scored the first seven points after halftime, capping a 24-0 run, to put the game away.

Now 13-5 overall and 4-2 in the HNAC, Triton will host Rochester in a non-conference tilt Tuesday night.

Goshen At Wawasee

SYRACUSE - The Wawasee Warriors are still searching for their first Northern Lakes Conference win of the season after falling 50-40 to Goshen Friday night.

Senior Keaton Dukes carried the Warriors offensively, finishing with 17 points, nearly half of the home team’s total. Collin Roberson added seven points.

The Wawasee junior varisity squad picked up a victory before the varisty game, beating the RedHawks 54-49.

Wawasee is now 5-13 this season, 0-7 in the NLC. The Warriors play their next game Friday against East Noble.

Manchester At Peru

PERU, Ind. - Manchester came up short in its Three Rivers Conference matchup with Peru Friday night, losing 70-49.

The?Squires are now 8-10 this season, 3-4 in the TRC, and play their next game Friday against Maconaquah.

Down 14 points after a quarter of play, it looked as if the Warsaw girls basketball team was in for a long night. But that was not the case, as the Lady Tigers rallied in the second and made a game of it. What looked to be a one-way contest turned into a thriller, with Warsaw finishing off the comeback with a 73-71 win in overtime.
